The Institute of Physics Physical Acoustics Group is sponsoring a “Visualising Physical Acoustics” research picture competition and prizes that will be awarded to winners in one of the plenary sessions of the International Symposium on Nonlinear Acoustics (ISNA) in Oxford.
The competition will be for the best picture that features physical acoustics research. The winner and runners-up will be printed on large format banners that will be displayed the symposium and presented awards at a plenary session. The first, second and third prizes will be cash prizes of £250, £200 and £150 respectively in addition to an award certificate.
Each picture must be given a short title and this must be used as the file name when it is uploaded in the format: image title.jpg (eg Bubble_Oscillation.jpg). You must submit a supporting caption with your picture, of up to 100 words, explaining what your image shows and how it relates to physical acoustics. This information will be taken into consideration, alongside the image, during the judging process.
Submissions can be entered until 1 June 2022 (extended) by sending pictures including a statement of how they were created including a 100 word caption to physicalacoustics@physics.org
Terms and Conditions (visualising_pag_terms_isna2022_final.pdf) apply. More details on the IoP Physical Acoustics Group can be found here.
